How can I cancel my holiday booking?

If you booked your break after December 1st 2018:

I’ve you’ve taken out Butlin’s Holiday Protection, to make a claim you'll need to call our Customer Care team on 0330 100 6659 at least 48 hours before the start date of your break, then send in written proof, for example a court notification for jury service or a doctor's certificate, via recorded delivery of your reason for cancelling. We'll then write to you within 48 hours of receiving the documentation to let you know whether or not we can provide a refund. There will be a £50 per accommodation unit cancellation charge.

If you're cancelling for another reason, you'll need to call our Customer Care team to discuss your options.

You have our Holiday Protection and you're cancelling due to illness, death, redundancy or jury service:

Two days (48 hours) or more

Full refund minus a cancellation charge of £50 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday protection

Two days (47 hours, 59 minutes) or less

30% refund of your total holiday cost and cost of Butlin's Holiday protection

 
You have our Holiday Protection and you're cancelling for any other reason:

56 days or more

Full refund minus a cancellation charge of £50 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection

55-43 days

70% refund minus a cancellation charge of £50 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection

42-29 days

50% refund minus a cancellation charge of £50 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection

28-8 days

10% refund minus a cancellation charge of £50 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection

7 days or less

No refund

If you have not taken Butlin's Holiday Protection and you cancel your break, Butlin’s will not issue a refund and you will need to claim back through your holiday insurance provider.

If you booked your break before December 1st 2018:

If you need to cancel your break due to illness, accident or change of circumstances and have taken our insurance, any changes arising from the cancellation will be covered in most cases.

If you have not taken our insurance, there will be no refund for any monies lost. We strongly advise that you take our cover or make your own insurance arrangements to protect yourself and your party.

As soon as you know that you need to cancel your break, that has been booked directly with Butlins please contact our friendly Live Chat team; you will need to provide us with:

  • Your booking reference number
  • Date of travel
  • Address details and date of birth

The e-mail address used will also need to match the e-mail address supplied to us at time of booking and be sent from the lead guest.

Deposit payments are non - refundable and non - transferable in all circumstances. Any refunds given in respect to payments made by credit/debit card will be repaid to the same card. Payments made with vouchers or credit notes will not be refunded.
